Inside A GFI BAG
The Essentials
Ahh, accessories - the trusted items I stock up on before heading into class. From individual windscreens, to the bag that holds everything together. Below are the items I pack before stepping onto the podium.
Gym Bag or backpack - After rotating through multiple bags, I LOVE the All In Motion 19” Backpack. Multiple compartments, laptop sleeve, zippers, and a separate vented shoe section - 10/10.
Cycle Shoes - As a cycle instructor, I carry these with me to every class. Best way to never forget them, have them packed and ready to go! The zippered compartment on my gym bag is an easy way to keep my shoes on me, but separate from my snacks and extra clothing. My go-to studio cycle shoes of choice - TIEM Slipstream.
TuneBelt - The belt that snaps to your waist and holds the mic pack while teaching. I clip this to the top handle of my backpack ensuring I can see it and always have it available for class. I found mine on Amazon for $21.99.
Windscreens - Just like hair ties, these can be found all over my car and house. They slip over the mic headset and assist as a breath buffer and guard against saliva. I purchase mine in bulk on Amazon - 10 units for $4.99 - they may rip or get lost, so it’s worth packing a few at a time.
Lightning Jack Dongle - Always be prepared - even if your studio/gym provides an audio jack/converter, I carry my own. Again, I purchase in bulk on Amazon - 3 units for $11.99.
2 in 1 iPhone and iWatch Charging Cord - On nonstop days my phone or watch might need some juice. A 2 in 1 charging cord makes life simple and removed the panic of a dead electronic. I found mine on Amazon - USB C Charger for Apple Watch and iPhone.
Bluetooth Audio Adaptor - Allows you to move freely with your phone and adjust the audio without needing to stand near your audio unit. Amazon - Bluetooth Audio Adaptor for $45.99 - this is often on sale.
Pen, Sharpie, or Mirror Marker - Be prepared for last minute classes changes.
Deodorant - Please carry extra with you.
Hair accessories - Ponytail holders, clips, etc. If you need them, then you’ll want them.
Chapstick
Water
Snack - Necessary for back to back classes. I choose peanut butter sandwiches, Muscle Milk, and Zone Perfect protein bars.
Change of clothes - Depending on what I teach and how often I teach, I bring a change of clothing - especially socks.
