STRENGTH AND MOBILITY FOR RUNNERS

Strength training for runners is vital for limiting the risk of injury by improving muscle activation, correcting muscle imbalances, and increasing power. Strength training done properly will increase efficiency of your running biomechanics and improve overall running performance.

Remember, everyone has their own “why” for training. As runners, you might be training for strength - not gains.

Whatever your end goal is, consistent and explosive strength training can improve your 5K time by focusing on increasing muscle power. This allows you to develop your speed and gain a strong finishing kick - essential for faster, stronger racing.

As always, please check with your health and wellness provider or coach prior to launching a new strength routine. You’re safety is key in performing new exercises and movements.
